I think the other hamster died last nite – I think it was the new food from Petsmart – they changed brands just a few days before the other one died and this poor little thing just kept excessively drinking water every day since I started using it – I thought all the extra water was because he finally had the bigger Revolution wheel to run in too as well as the smaller one (he climbed in it also as well as running in it!) until now – maybe it had way too much salt in it or something that the other food didn’t.

I just feel so sick at heart about this! I do not believe it is coincidence at all.

He seemed fine yesterday morning – running in his wheel, checking out our company (the Bad Dog and Miss Candy are here spending the week-end while my daughter, grandson and son-in-law are in San Antonio at Sea World) and now he is dead.

I know I have to go find out for sure … but it is extremely heartbreaking and sad so I am putting it off … it was really strange not to have him greeting me this morning – he liked to run in the Revolution wheel and then stop and look at me to see if I was watching :) He had a lot of personality and though he hated being handled (I knew that from the guy at Petsmart but I didn’t want to handle him – I just wanted to watch him and give him lots of exploration opportunities), he was very inquisitive, smart (a climber from the very beginning) and friendly if you weren’t touching him. He would run facing one direction for awhile and then he would stop, turn and look at me to see if I was watching … then he would face the other direction to run in that wheel. He LOVED to go round & round in that outerspace condo too. He was quite the acrobat too! He loved to climb from the bottom to the top of that Revolution wheel!

I’m not getting another hamster for awhile … I do not know if I could sterilize the plastic pieces or not and I do NOT want to chance it being unhealthy for another hamster so I am going to throw away all the used hamster equipment just in case … sigh … a bunch of money in the garbage … but I feel it is the right thing to do since I do not know for sure what killed either one of them.

I will miss Mr Attitude a lot too! He made me laugh a lot! I enjoyed watching him and Fuzzball so much!
