I watched the entire debate tonite just as many other Americans watched tonite. I thought BOTH did an excellent job.

I wish they were the Presidential candidate choices! Both seemed much more … “normal people” than either Obama or McCain. I am NOT enamored of either Obama or McCain … neither Obama or McCain inspires confidence they will help make things better – in fact, I think both will lead us into directions that we as a country will regret if we live through them.

Joe Biden’s connection with regular Americans and their dinner table conversation concerns or being single parents etc was quite moving … except for his reminder of him being a salaried Senate member for years and years and years … which also reminded me of him having a pension that is NOT dependent whatsoever on Social Security … his pension is not at risk from whatever Congress does to Social Security … but mine is … that connection probably was not what he had in mind when talking about his “forever paid government service”.

I was a single Mom, not a single Dad. I was a wife at one point, not a husband [grin]. My daughter has been a soccer Mom and right now she is currently a football Mom [she is co-Team Mom this season - that is exciting!] … which makes me a Football Grandma … … so I can identify with Sarah Palin and her common sense approach to the American public, the Presidential / Vice Presidential campaign and to government.

I felt like I was listening to my next door American neighbor when Sarah Palin spoke .. no she is not an expert on all that Washington government service stuff … BUT … she is one smart woman, she LISTENS

[I think Joe is good at talking but I didn't get the impression that he listens very well]

I saw Sarah Palin listen tonite … and I saw her choose what to address in what she heard … she picked out what she could intelligently discuss and left alone what she could not. She did not bluster … she did gently point out how backward looking and blame pointing that Biden and the Obama ticket by default was being.

I personally am really sick of listening to blame … negativity and no common sense solutions being found.
