CED2010: Moving Right Along
This year is moving pretty fast for me … already it is the second week of February! My 2 year anniversary of being a non-smoker is the end of the month … yesterday I created 4 very pretty 6″ x 6″ palm tree paintings and I have managed to stay on target with my goal of drawing/sketching every day.
One benefit I have noticed with being at my drawing table with a watercolor pencil in my hand every day is that I am not nearly as … overly concerned … with the content. I am not busy spending enormous amounts of time analyzing and self-critical-ness … I do my best in the moment and move on to whatever is next in my life knowing I will be drawing/sketching more later the same day or the very next day.
I feel as if a weight has lifted from my shoulders … when I was only painting when the Muse …spoke… I was too busy going in circles of spirals and not enjoying the moment or the complete process … now I am!
I put up a new design in my Zazzle Shop this week as well.
I tried the silk scarf painting but it is not for me … the scarves are too sheer and I managed to tear one trying to get it taut in the holder for painting … 100% cotton is good so I may go that direction … much later, I may try some sun painting on silk scarves though … those would look pretty with my dragonflies on them!
