Chill of a Cold Night and Morning

Today’s featured art is Palm Tree Ballet #1 by Barbara Burns

Last nite, this morning and tonite – quite chilly outside. This morning was my grandson’s football game … playoffs … I have managed not to attend ANY of his football games this season … lol … poor him … BUT Grandma is not a big football fan … though I AM a big fan of my grandson … I support him … just not football if that makes any sense … I was thinking about going to his game this morning … it was at 8 AM … but it was cooooold! It made my arthritis hurt terribly and I was afraid it would not be a good thing for me to go sit outside for 3-4 hours in the cold.

I stayed home, drank coffee and painted a few whimsical palm trees in watercolors instead … I do not have them photographed and uploaded to my online galleries yet … maybe tomorrow [or maybe not] … I am making greeting cards with envelopes … all of them so far anyway are my fanciful, whimsical palm trees. This series has been floating around in my soul for a few months now but I just started actually creating them today … I bought a box of 100 watercolor cards and envelopes :) awhile back to use to create this series … guess you can tell I am VERY serious about having quite a body of work in whimsical palm trees.

Palm trees are fun and gorgeous trees … and my whimsical trees make me smile and feel good doing them … art is supposed to be joyful and fun and make me feel good … these do … they are not “serious” technical graphic design but fun colorful sometimes nearly abstract shapes and colors that appear on the paper as a cross between a drawing and a sketch … fun art.

Will anyone buy any of them to use for cards? Only time will tell .. the plan is for me to photo them and get myself an Etsy Gallery to offer the cards themselves for sale … the prints will be available at my Imagekind gallery once I get them photographed … I’m thinking of asking my daughter to do the photographs … she is REALLY good with her terrific camera and I think her shots would be so much better than mine … she has a better camera than I do for one thing but she has a much better eye for using a camera than I do … and she loves taking pictures … it is more of a means to an end for me … I need good pictures of my art … it usually takes me forever to get good shots though. I like candid nature photography very well … but taking pictures of my art is not a lot of fun for me!
