Congratulations Senator Obama … you have become the first African American Democratic Presidential Nominee.

I will NOT be voting for you in November even though I have been a Democrat for a very long time. I do not “just” vote along Party lines – I vote for the person I believe to be the most qualified candidate. That would not be you.

I would rather have a Republican too old to be President than a man who knows nearly nothing about accomplishing anything in our country let alone in foreign countries and a man who very obviously has no idea how to support our troops while not supporting the war itself. I believe an experienced Republican will do less harm to our country if elected than you would if elected.

I believe your agenda is about being the first African American President … NOT about what is best for the American people of all races and religions or the entire country of America. Bottom line for me … our country does not need another know-nothing with a personal agenda – we’ve had Bush for 2 terms … and look at the mess we are in because of it.

Yes I am Caucasian and a member of AARP … I supported Hillary because I believed her to be the best choice. Perhaps you and your campaign will write me and others like me off to be “a racist” because I won’t jump on a mob-mentality bandwagon of helping you to create your next “first” status.

I’m not a racist … I would have been proud to support and vote for Colin Powell for instance if he had thrown his hat in the ring to become President this year or any year. Very smart man that knows how to accomplish things here and abroad.

And way back when Jesse Jackson tried for the nomination … I was one of his supporters – it was the first time I had ever went to a caucus … I still think he would have done an excellent job … he is opinionated … and vocal about it … and we always know where he stands on any issue :) whether we agree with him or not … he is well known and is certainly not a newcomer to the American public. If he had decided to try again this year … I would have been first in line to vote for him – I do not always agree with him … but I believe that he would always put America and the American people first before any other agenda … I do not believe you will or can do that Senator Obama.

It would have been wonderful if Dr. Condoleezza Rice had thrown her hat in the ring to become President this year – I could easily support and vote for her too … brilliant woman who knows foreign policy and American Security.

If Hillary had won the nomination and made you her VP choice … I would have voted for her as President … I will NOT vote for you for President no matter who you choose as your VP running mate – I have already written Hillary to tell her so.

You’ve accomplished your first goal Senator Obama … if you accomplish your next “first” … to become President … that will probably be your major achievement while in office … God knows I am terrified of what your worst mistake might be if you do become President. “Bush the Butcher” has done enough damage to our country and citizens with his personal agenda … I sincerely hope we do not have to try to weather through your personal agenda too.

There will not be any Democratic Party Healing required for me from this Democratic Primary – I am going to have to vote Republican this year unless a qualified Independent arrives on the ballot. I will not be donating any money to your campaign either. Hillary is the only political candidate that I have ever financially supported in my entire voting career. Say what you want about either of the Clintons … they gave our country a balanced budget that we sure do not have now and both of them were well-liked and respected by foreign governments.
