Finding Words for my Political Unease

This election coverage has left me with a giant unease and actual fear for my country … I’ve read a lot this campaign season … I’ve thought a lot … I watched the debates … I’ve read blogs with political opinions about both candidates … I’ve asked myself lots of questions but I have found no real answers on the Obama Democratic side … not because I did not look … but because those answers I did find are either pure drivel or not “trustworthy” … spin has been easy to find … hard facts are in short supply for or about Senator Obama … I voted in early voting so I would have it accomplished … I was more voting against than for this year … though I do like Sarah Palin but I whole-heartedly disagree with her stance on abortion though … I only believe abortion should be legal to keep illegal abortionists from killing or maiming girls and women. But any Mom is ready to step in and be President and make decisions … any Mother has or does deal with all the spur of the moment stuff that happens and needs taken care of immediately.

I doubt Sarah Palin truly understands the coat hanger abortion days and the cost to our entire world of those days. Unfortunately, any girl or woman who really wants to get an abortion will find someone who says they can give her one … no matter even if it costs her life … I do not want to go back to those days.

I read an article tonite at The Real World. The article was “Obama is the Stealth Candidate“. It was well written and thought out … it touched on so many of the reasons why I have been so unwilling to support Senator Obama through out this campaign.

I’ve always thought and researched and voted … this is the first time though that I have been worried how the outcome of the election will affect our country. Even when we have elected horrible men ["Bush the Butcher" comes to mind first since he is the very worst ever so far], until now, I have always had faith that our country would survive and remain intact and find a way to continue bumping along in the middle of the road with possibly a few swerves here & there to the extremes without ever taking a direct head first leap into the extreme of either direction for several years.

Bush in my mind was and is a Republican extremist fanatic – I did NOT vote for him either time. Obama appears to me to be a Democratic extremist fanatic. I did NOT vote for him either. To me, both seem to be completely self-serving and committed to getting what he wants no matter who else gets hurt.

We can see right now how much harm Bush has done to our country … swerving to the other extreme is not going to right the ship by any means .. if Obama is elected, I fear it may very well take our country down to sinking … I ask myself: if Obama wins, will there be a United States of America for my grandson to grow up in? … time will tell …
