It is already October … time to start decorating for Halloween. I’m not putting out lights for Halloween … I do not want to increase my electric bill … I need to go over to my daughter’s house and look through the decorations – I took them to her house for storage when I moved into the apt. I do not plan to do much … but I’m thinking maybe a couple things would be nice for daytime seeing. The street lights shine well here and that could help it look a bit spooky with some spider web in the tree.

I’m already thinking and planning ahead to Christmas decorations too. Most people think lights when they start putting up Christmas decorations … which means that their house looks … awful … in the daytime to look so lovely with all those bright night lights. I want to keep my electric bill under control – last year was good … but the year before that was baaaad when I was at the house and had lights outside before Christmas.

I am going to decorate with the idea of making it look lovely in the daytime and only the tree in the living room window will be lit up at nite. I have no desire to climb up on a ladder to put up lights on the roof either – that could get dangerous quick!

I bought 3 very inexpensive small lollipop wooden decorations to put in the front yard around the street facing part of my sidewalk. I’m considering getting some evergreen bough to wrap around the pillar – the bricks are bright red. I cannot remember if still have a wreath to hang on the front door … if not, I will figure out what to do instead.

I did splurge and get some absolutely adorable singing dog Christmas stockings! My grandson will love them! He likes all those noisy things … they will go nicely with the singing dog and singing snowman. He looks forward to them every year LOL … drives the dog bonkers … and that makes him laugh … though it does get a bit tiring for me … but Christmas only comes once a year and my grandson is not here that much so I can make do with the noise for a little bit to give him the fun of those since I got them for him anyway :)
