So far, the storm has rained on us here in Katy just west of Houston, TX … we needed some rain and it has been a nice rain … cooled the heat down …. wet the ground enough to soak some into the grass roots … and at the moment the sun appears to be peeping out form the clouds a bit … I have not seen any horrendous winds or flooding so far anyway thankfully … I haven’t left Katy today though … and in fact only left the house about 2 PM to go get some stew meat, potatoes and onions for the crock pot to cook up a nice stew for later tonite to eat with some bread and “pretend” butter. They are happily starting to boil – I put them on high to get them started in the cooking process … almost time to go turn them down to about medium heat so they will cook faster than slow cooking but not boiling the meat into tough pieces of leather. I put in garlic and lemon pepper too – later on will be soon enough to put in the yummy frozen veggies I have in the freezer.
