Last Tuesdays Topic was Celebrations … I’m late again this week in blogging … but always better late than never … sometimes as my grandson likes to say … there just is not enough of me to go around … as of last Friday, April 11th … I have been smoke free for 6 weeks now … no cigarettes in the month of March or in April of 2008 so far anyway … and to celebrate as well as to help keep me on the no smoking wagon … I bought a new car last Thursday.
This car does not smell like cigarettes … which is a good thing … quitting smoking is REALLY hard … I need all the help I can get … and it is pretty … it is a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe … 2 door … sunroof … radio controls on the steering wheel … atomic blue – kind of a sky blue metallic … according to my grandson when I picked him up Saturday afternoon in it and went to Sonic for something to drink [he was a bit freaked out at first when Mommy told him that I bought a new car - he doesn't much like change ... but once he knew it was to help me not smoke ... that made it better .. an 11 year old sees the world differently than adults

I didn’t mention it to him but I sure hope it is not a nitemare instead of a dream … LOL … I have no idea what brought that up for him … I have been single [and not dating] since he was a baby [he will be 11 in May] … first I needed time to get over a broken relationship .. then I was busy being his Grandma … and an artist … and working … life moves on … and I am still quite busy and still being his Grandma and an artist … in my spare time … that I have very little of many times LOL
… like this week-end … I spent time being Grandma and the rest was spent working on my day job stuff that I brought home … I have a very tight deadline for a large manual project that HAS to be done by the end of the month and I am only about half way through making the changes I need to make so far.
I did create a couple palm tree sketches early Saturday morning and last week before work one morning, I sketched a palm tree too … no real painting … just some quick sketches … too busy working on my day job … but I took the time to go buy a new car and to even drive it around a bit this afternoon … it was lovely weather and I wanted to open the sunroof while I can with the lovely breeze and not sweltering heat.
I didn’t take the dog for a car ride in it yet … I’m thinking that I need to either put a blanket on the seats or buy seat covers so the 50 lb white fuzzy hairball AKA Miss Sugar Plum who loves car rides doesn’t shed as much all over my new car with the pretty gray cloth seats.
