This is an easy topic to write about … but a hard decision of which is my number 1 favorite
… I have a couple … the “Serenity Prayer”:
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
and then of course there is the 23rd Psalm from the Bible (AKA The Lords Prayer):
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
I am NOT a religious person … I consider myself a spiritual person though … and a realist … I grew up in the school of hard knocks (most felt like blocks of cement to me) and sometimes the ONLY comfort or joy or hope to be found in my life came from these two above “quotes” … they brought hope into many hopeless situations for me over the years … and I believe I have them to thank for me never giving up hope of having a better life .. and for my determination to make lemonade out of the lemons life kept throwing at me.
Life is still throwing lemons at me … I am REALLY tired of making lemonade … lol … perhaps it is time I made lemon meringue pie instead … rofl … I need a change of pace these days.
Thumbs up!
And Lemon Cake is good, too!
