National Hairball Awareness Day – that is the topic I had to choose since I have a 50 lb fuzzy furry hairball on walking or running legs with delicate but just right size feminine puppy paws but whose nails are always in serious need of a manicure! My hairball has her own category even … she is truly very special … and makes me laugh a lot!

And trust me … I am very aware of the hairballs at my house … all over the carpet … the furniture … my clothes … and the bouncy alive hairball couldn’t be ignored if ya tried … she is the happiest dog … or is that the happiest hairball … or the happiest hairball dog … in my world.

If she thinks I am turning on the TV, she runs over and jumps in the papasan chair and waits very expectantly for it to come on … so of course I then have to turn it on for her so she can watch TV … yes she does watch for awhile before losing interest and taking a nap. She is adorable!

JGoode chose skipping day for her topic – today is also National Adult Public Skipping Day. She is definitely a woman who would not be afraid to skip down the street in public!

When I first came to Texas back in 1989 and visited Galveston and the Seawall for the first time … I was busy skipping along the Seawall … my friend laughed “with” not at me … he didn’t tell me I looked ridiculous skipping in public [I think he kinda liked the bouncing parts and the traffic honked at me a lot] … he didn’t skip … but he didn’t try to rain on my parade either. I had never seen the sea before and I was so excited … I still get excited going down to the Gulf of Mexico … but my knees won’t hold up to me skipping these days … Rheumatoid Arthritis takes things away from people … skipping is one thing I have probably lost forever … though hope springs eternal that when the meds start working … maybe I will get some back :)
