Tuesdays Topic: Taking a Break & Counting My Blessings
Being unemployed in the corporate world since mid-January … it is now June … time to count my blessings 
1. It means I have taken a nice long break from office politics … I am not good at office politics … never have been and never will be … I like everyone and treat everyone with respect and dignity and I believe that everyone is important to the company and to its daily operation … from the janitor to the CEO … each has contributions unique to themselves and their job towards the success or failure of the company.
2. Taking a break from corporate office life means that I have had some time working with my dog to teach her that she is loved and does not need to be quite so timid … she is actually enjoying being alone in her yard for short periods of time!!!! She is looking forward to having her regular chewie schedule restart though … she gets a pork twist chewie when I leave for work … so she has not had very many of those lately … lol
3. Taking a break from the building A/C thermostats being so cold, parking lots full of sunshine glare and freeways full of angry commuters means that I reduced my carbon footprint way down the last 6 months … I stayed home most of the time so was not polluting the air … I have the home A/C set on normal for while I am gone levels and have been comfy most of the time … and when it got a touch too hot in the house … I have only changed it 1-2 degrees for short periods of time … usually during the extreme heat of the day.
4. Most importantly … I think that it has been a great learn new skills and creative thought re-energize time for me … I was not and am not planning to leave the corporate world any time soon … I LOVE working with MS Office, Adobe Design Software, business projects ranging from form letters to User Manuals to PowerPoint Presentations to … everything possibly needing created … but it was nice to have some time to explore new design ideas and new software without the demands of production deadline goals – I am really looking forward to purchasing the upgrades to Adobe CS4, Corel Painter 11 and MS Office 2007 – I used up all my Trial Offer time on them and enjoyed using them immensely!
