Trends in home decor, furniture, clothing, art styles, eye glass frames and hair styles are just a few trends I can think of this morning. I love to see the various color trends that will show up in the stores for clothes each season … some are truly hideous … I remember slime green once … perhaps some ppl love slime green … but it made me feel nauseous
looking at it hanging on the rack at the store.
I’m always looking for a color that is impossible to find that season … like the season I desperately needed a new white blouse to wear with my interview suit … I nearly looked in every store in a large Houston mall … there was no plain white or even ivory long-sleeve or short sleeve anywhere to be found … not even a tank top since it was winter at the time … (I have an orchid blouse for one suit these days … lol) when I wanted pink curtains … I looked and I looked and I looked … nothing in local stores … nothing online unless I wanted to spend thousands of dollars – nope .. no pink curtains at a reasonable price anywhere to be found.
Now … if I do not see it in one store … I quit looking for it … I just know that no one will have it … that everything in the world will be 2-3 colors and nothing else will exist again until another season somewhere in the future. Makes shopping rather boring and quite frustrating to me … everyone does not want to live with only the “designers choices” of that season. For example, I cannot imagine me living with slime green, mustard yellow or neon pink on a daily basis for curtains … bed comforters or what I wear to work.
Forest or mint green … ivory sunshine … dusty rose pink … those are colors I can live with daily … I do like bold and bright colors … I bought light & darker orange paint for one room of my house after all …. but I like to choose my own colors so I wish they would give me more options … I understand why they do not … but it means that I may have to wait several years before replacing clothes that are worn out or for a change in curtains.
I think mint green is only for ice cream.. we should stick with that! If you could have it your way, what color would everything be today?
lol … I used to have a pair of mint green slacks for work … they were very nice in spring and comfy too!
If I had it my way
… I would want a rainbow of colors, hues and shades from pale to bright & bold that actually includes all those I don’t like too so EVERYONE could find something they like and would be happy to find right then.
I do not like “2-3 limited color selections per season” … I understand WHY we have them … economics … and people buying what is available many times … BUT there are times I cannot even find a basic black or white option let alone some specific solid primary color families.
For example, when I moved from Iowa to Texas – what I needed to wear for work in Texas was similar yet so very different from what I needed for work in Iowa … and I still had bright red hair back then instead of faded out to z few red highlights in the sunshine … which in itself limited my color choices quite a bit if I did not want to look like Bozo the Clown. lol
Agree!
I’ve been looking for the perfect blue spread or comforter for our bedroom since we moved here. I’m not even a precisely picky, just a know-what-I-want. And every single one that I want, only comes in green. It might be trendy to be green – but I’m blue about it.
lol … I know exactly what ya mean … I looked for pink curtains for a couple years .. never did find them … moved from that house a year and a half ago … I still have not seen any reasonably priced pink curtains.
Trendy colors are also the reason I can’t get rid of those perfect burgandy heels in my shoe lineup. I’ve only worn them twice in 15 years, but how would I ever find that color again if I let these go?
roflmao … absolutely … I let some pale yellow heels go ages ago and never found another pair that I like …. in my closet now are white and black and brown … but of course … I wouldn’t be able to find anything in yellow to wear with them anyway if I still had them since yellow never seems to be one of the “in” colors of any season.
