I took last week off as a vacation. Vacations are refreshing. I had the entire week off because my last assignment ended Friday the 21st of April and my next assignment starts on Monday May 1st – tomorrow. I decided that a vacation would be very refreshing and it will be awhile before I have another week off at one time.

Not even Thursday Thirteen or Saturday Seven blogging last week – I played video games, painted, visited with my neighbor, played music on my stereo, sat in my swing in the front yard & watched the tree pruners prune the tree – it was very refreshing & relaxing – in this fast paced world – many times we do not take the time to smell the flowers, enjoy the sunset & just hang out for awhile.

I get wrapped up in work at work & working at home on my shops – I love doing both but at home I also have an old, sick dog that requires a lot of time & care and laundry is a never ending task just like dishes & housecleaning. Plus the traffic here in the Houston area eats away a lot of time as well as gasoline. You can live 20 minutes away from a place if there isn’t any traffic and it can take you over an hour to get there during rush hours. Personally, I’d rather drive than sit in traffic inching along.

Did I go anywhere exciting or exotic for my vacation? No … unless you count video game lands – those are always exciting & exotic in RPG games. Did I relax and enjoy my time off? Very much. I feel relaxed and ready to rejoin the working world ready for new challenges and accomplishments in a new work environment.
